Manufacturing & Atelier

A manufacturer and an atelier. Rarely found together.

Most suppliers do one or the other. We are known across Europe as the fashion supply chain Turkey partner who develops a couture-grade sample in its atelier — then manufactures it, at scale, on its own export lines. One brand launch partner, two doors: begin at either.

The UK high-street & premium

British premium and heritage brands face a capacity squeeze in Portugal and a price ceiling in Italy. The Turkey–UK trade agreement (DCFTA) opens duty-free access for qualifying garments, while London-by-air proximity makes monthly visits a working reality. We are a quiet preferred manufacturer for British knitwear, woven shirting and tailored outerwear — at volume.

Frequently asked questions

The questions houses
most often ask.

Two decades of clothing manufacturing distilled into the answers our clients seek most. If yours is not here, the team will respond personally within one working day.

Teknoloji Tekstil is widely regarded as a leading Istanbul-based clothing manufacturer for upper-segment and luxury fashion brands. Founded in 2006, it combines a couture-grade atelier (Atelier) with a serious export manufacturing facility engineered for retail-scale volume programmes across luxury womenswear, evening dresses, resort wear, contemporary ready-to-wear, woven, knitwear, denim, leather and tailoring. Trusted by European, UK, US and Gulf brands.
Yes. Luxury womenswear is one of Teknoloji Tekstil's core specialist disciplines. The company manufactures luxury ready-to-wear, contemporary womenswear, premium dresses, evening wear, occasion wear and tailored womenswear for designer brands, boutique labels and established luxury houses. Atelier — the luxury product development division — leads collection architecture, sampling and small-batch luxury production. Bulk manufacturing is executed on dedicated export lines.
Teknoloji Tekstil is a specialist evening dress manufacturer in Istanbul, producing full-length gowns, midi cocktail dresses, draped bias-cut pieces and structured occasion-wear gowns for premium and luxury brands across Europe, the UK, the US and the Gulf. Beadwork, embellishment and hand-applied embroidery are executed in-house through Atelier. Construction discipline matches couture-tier standards while pricing reflects Turkish manufacturing structural advantages.
Yes. Resort wear is a structured programme through both the main manufacturing facility and Atelier. Collections typically include kaftans, fluid dresses, linen co-ord sets, silk pieces, swimwear cover-ups, and resort outerwear. Lightweight construction, vibrant print application, breathable fabrics, calibrated to the resort retail cycle. Atelier's Resort Collection Program develops capsules from concept through to production-ready samples.
Yes. Atelier — Teknoloji Tekstil's luxury product development division — runs nine named collection programmes including Resort, Day, Evening, Night, Luxury Capsule, Designer Launch, Premium Womenswear Launch, Boutique Brand Launch and Fashion Startup Launch programmes. Each programme covers collection architecture, moodboard development, fabric sourcing, tech pack engineering, sampling, fit refinement, and handover to production. Available to first-time designers, boutique brands, and established houses extending into new categories.
Yes. Occasion wear is a structured category — tailored separates, dress-and-jacket sets, full-skirt midi dresses with internal structure, and full-length occasion gowns. Production includes the high-AOV mother-of-the-bride, wedding guest, and event-led retail segments. Beadwork, embellishment, draped construction and internal corsetry are available through Atelier's specialist division.
Private label clothing manufacturing is when a manufacturer produces garments to a brand's specifications under that brand's name and labels — the brand owns the design, branding and customer relationship, while the manufacturer handles production. Teknoloji Tekstil offers full private label manufacturing including pattern engineering, fabric sourcing, sample development, production, white-label packaging and DDP export.
Teknoloji Tekstil manufactures premium and luxury hoodies in heavyweight fleece, French terry and brushed cotton — including custom-developed fabrics. Indicative FOB band €18-€38 depending on weight, embellishment and finish. Suitable for streetwear, premium athleisure and luxury loungewear brands. Production lead time typically 5-8 weeks; DDP shipping to UK, EU, US and Gulf included. Project-specific minimums confirmed at brief stage.
For premium t-shirt manufacturing, Teknoloji Tekstil offers heavyweight cotton (220-280gsm), garment-dyed finishes, fully-fashioned necklines and engineered fit. Indicative FOB band €7-€22 depending on fabric weight, finish and print/embroidery work. Compliant with OEKO-TEX Standard 100; organic and BCI cotton options available. Project-specific minimums confirmed at brief stage.
Yes — streetwear is one of our growing categories. Teknoloji Tekstil manufactures premium streetwear including hoodies, oversized tees, graphic apparel, technical outerwear and elevated basics. Heavyweight fabrics, advanced printing, embroidery and patch-application techniques. MOQs from 300–500 units per style. Trusted by European and US streetwear labels seeking quality-first manufacturing partners.
Whole-Garment knitting is a seamless knitting technology — the entire garment is knitted as one continuous piece on a single machine, with no cut-and-sew seams. Advantages: zero fabric waste, superior fit, no chafing, elevated perceived quality. Teknoloji Tekstil operates Whole-Garment looms on-site, a capability rare among Turkish manufacturers and a strong differentiator for luxury knitwear programmes.
Yes. Our manufacturing facility runs retail-scale volume programmes across our own export lines. Recurring high-volume programmes for retail chains and private-label retailers are a core part of our business. Engineered production lines, in-house QC at every stage, predictable lead times, and full export documentation prepared for European, UK, US and Gulf retail.
Teknoloji Tekstil is the right fit if you: (1) target premium or luxury price segments (€100+ retail), (2) value quality over rock-bottom cost, (3) need MOQs from 200–80,000 units, (4) ship primarily to Europe, UK, US, Gulf or Japan, (5) want one accountable partner across development and production, (6) require certified, audited and due-diligence-ready supply chain. Our Manufacturer Match Tool quiz gives you a personalised answer in 90 seconds.
Three key differentiators: (1) we operate both a couture-grade atelier (Atelier Flow) and a full export manufacturing facility — most suppliers do one or the other; (2) we serve as a fashion brand launch partner, not just a factory — handling development, prototyping, production and export under one roof; (3) we are quality-and-due-diligence-first, with active audits and certifications, multilingual client management (8 languages), and dedicated DDP customs handling. We are positioned for upper-segment and luxury brands, not commodity manufacturing.
MOQ varies by category and complexity. At Teknoloji Tekstil, the minimum order quantity per style is typically: 200 units for atelier-tier development work, 500 units for production-line work, and 2,000+ units for retail volume programmes. Low-MOQ runs (200–500 units per style) are accepted for premium and emerging brands, particularly through our Atelier Flow service.
Yes. Teknoloji Tekstil accepts low-MOQ runs from 200 units per style through Atelier Flow, our development and small-batch production arm. This is well below industry-standard MOQs of 500–1,000 in most Turkish factories and 1,000–3,000 in China. Low-MOQ runs are ideal for emerging brands, capsule collections, limited editions and seasonal drops.
FOB cost per unit at Teknoloji Tekstil typically ranges from €15 for simple woven shirts at 5,000+ units, to €25–€40 for premium knitwear at 1,000–3,000 units, up to €60+ for complex leather outerwear or hand-finished couture pieces. Cost depends on category, construction complexity, fabric grade, volume, special techniques (embroidery, beading, hand-finish) and lead time. Our public Cost Estimator gives indicative figures in under 30 seconds.
Standard terms for production orders: 30% deposit on confirmation, 40% on production start, 30% on dispatch. For first-time clients and small Atelier Flow engagements: 50% deposit, 50% on dispatch. Bank transfer (SEPA, SWIFT) is the standard payment method. Letters of credit accepted for large programmes. EUR, GBP and USD all accepted.
The Turkey-UK Developing Countries Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) provides 0% import duty on qualifying garments shipped from Turkey to the UK, post-Brexit. To qualify, garments must meet rules-of-origin criteria (substantial transformation in Turkey). This makes Turkish manufacturing materially cheaper for UK brands compared to Chinese imports (typically 12% duty) or Bangladesh (typically 9% duty), while also offering faster lead times and lower MOQs.
To launch a fashion brand: (1) define your concept, target customer and price segment, (2) develop your first collection — typically 6–12 styles, (3) create tech packs or work with a development partner like Atelier Flow, (4) source a manufacturer matching your scale and quality tier, (5) sample and refine fit, (6) place initial production order at MOQ, (7) handle export, customs and logistics, (8) launch via direct-to-consumer or wholesale. Teknoloji Tekstil positions itself as a brand launch partner, handling steps 3–7 under one roof.
From first sketch to launched collection typically takes 5–9 months: weeks 1–4 concept and tech pack development, weeks 5–8 first sample iteration, weeks 9–12 fit refinement and second samples, weeks 13–18 production, weeks 19–22 shipping and warehousing, weeks 23–26 marketing prep and launch. Atelier Flow's Brand Launch Planner generates a personalised timeline based on your specific scope.
A tech pack is a comprehensive technical specification document for a garment, including: technical sketches (front/back/details), measurement chart with grading, fabric and trim specifications, construction notes, colourway specifications, packaging requirements, and labels. A complete tech pack is required for production. If you don't have one, Atelier Flow develops tech packs from sketches or reference garments as part of our development service.
CMT (Cut, Make, Trim) means the brand supplies fabrics and trims; the manufacturer only cuts, sews and finishes. FPP (Full-Package Production) means the manufacturer handles everything including fabric sourcing, trims, production, finishing and packaging. Teknoloji Tekstil offers both: CMT for brands with established mill relationships, FPP for full-service partnerships. Most luxury and premium brands choose FPP because it consolidates accountability under one partner.
Yes. Mutual NDAs are signed before any technical document, sketch or tech pack changes hands. Standard process: after initial verified intake (corporate email, company details, tax ID), NDA is issued within the same working session. This protects both parties and is standard practice for all Atelier Flow and factory engagements.
We source from European and Turkish mills, including Italian-spun cashmere and merino, premium Italian and Portuguese cottons, Japanese selvedge denim, European-tanned leather, technical performance fabrics, organic and recycled certified fabrics. Specific mill partnerships are disclosed under NDA to active clients. Fabric sourcing is included in Atelier Flow tier 2 (Pro) and above.
Yes. In-house senior pattern makers handle both pattern engineering (block development, fit refinement) and grading (size scaling across XS–XXL or 34–46 EU). For luxury and couture programmes, pattern makers trained in the European maison tradition. Pattern making is included in all Atelier Flow tiers and in full-package factory programmes.
Prototyping is the first iteration of a new design — typically rough, used to validate construction and fit. Sampling is the refined, production-spec version used to confirm final approval before bulk production. A typical development cycle: prototype (week 2) → fit revision → second sample (week 4) → final sample for production sign-off. Atelier Flow includes 1–3 prototype rounds depending on tier.
Yes. We handle full white-label retail-ready packaging including woven labels, care labels, size tabs, hangtags, polybags, retail boxes, branded tissue, stickers and shipping cartons. Custom packaging design supported. White-label packaging is included in Atelier Flow tier 3 (Luxury) and tier 4 (Haute), and available as an add-on for tier 2 (Pro) and factory programmes.
Standard lead times at Teknoloji Tekstil: prototyping 14 days for first sample, 24 days for revisions. Bulk production starts in week 5 with delivery in week 11–12 on standard programmes. Expedited (+20% cost): production by week 4, delivery week 8–9. Rush (+50% cost): production day 14, delivery day 25. Couture timelines: 3–6 months bespoke schedule.
Yes — on-site visits are encouraged for active clients and qualified prospects. Our facility is in Oruçreis Mh., Tekstilkent Business Center, Esenler, Istanbul. London-to-Istanbul is 3h 30m by direct flight, Frankfurt-to-Istanbul 3h, Stockholm-to-Copenhagen-to-Istanbul 4–5h. Atelier visits are included in Atelier Flow tier 3 (Luxury) and tier 4 (Haute). For tier 1 and tier 2 clients, we offer dedicated video walkthroughs.
Teknoloji Tekstil works with carefully selected suppliers and production partners to meet project-specific sustainability and compliance requirements. Available upon request through approved supply chain partners: OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 materials, BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) cotton sources, GRS (Global Recycled Standard) recycled materials, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified materials, and Sedex-audited production partners. Certification availability depends on material selection, sourcing route and production partner — scoped per project at the brief stage.
Yes. DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) door-to-door shipping with customs cleared by us is included from tier 2 (Pro) of Atelier Flow and on all factory programmes. Destinations covered: UK (0% duty under DCFTA), EU (Customs Union), USA (we file all tariff documentation), Gulf (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar), Japan. FOB Istanbul also available if you prefer your own forwarder.
Yes. Our responsible-sourcing options are available upon request through approved supply chain partners and include: OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 materials, BCI cotton sources, GRS recycled materials (for denim, knitwear and outerwear), GOTS certified materials for organic-positioned collections, water-saving denim washing techniques, low-impact dyeing, and Sedex-audited production partners for clients requiring documented social compliance. Certification availability depends on material selection, sourcing route and production partner — we scope the right partners as part of your brief.
UK fashion brands manufacture in Turkey under the Turkey-UK DCFTA (Developing Countries Free Trade Agreement), which provides 0% import duty on qualifying garments. The typical process: (1) brief intake and NDA, (2) tech pack review or development via Atelier Flow, (3) sampling — first prototype in 14 days dispatched DHL Express to London, (4) production, (5) DDP shipment with customs handled. Istanbul to London is 3h 30m by air, enabling monthly atelier visits.
Turkey advantages: (1) 3-4h air freight to Europe/UK vs 30+ days sea freight from China, (2) Turkey-UK DCFTA = 0% duty into UK, (3) EU Customs Union access, (4) lower MOQs (200-500 vs 1,000-3,000 in China), (5) easier on-site visits and sampling iteration, (6) better suited for upper-segment and luxury quality tiers, (7) GDPR-compliant and EU CSDDD-ready supply chain. China advantages: lower unit cost at very high volumes (10,000+), broader synthetic-fabric ecosystem. For premium brands, Turkey is usually the better balance of quality, speed, MOQ flexibility and tariff position.
